Platform is an arts organisation based in Stockholm, Sweden, dedicated to the development of cultural production through digital infrastructure and shared-resource initiatives. We manage 64 artist studios occupied by around 130 creative professionals, run a gallery for contemporary art, and develop software for cultural institutions.
Founded as a studio collective, Platform operates from Färgkontoret on Lövholmsgränd in Stockholm.
The building
Platform's home was built in 1916 as the head office of the paint manufacturer Beckers, in the industrial quarter of Lövholmen in Liljeholmen. Its name, Färgkontoret, simply means 'the paint office'.
Today its floors hold Platform's studios alongside four other artist collectives, with the gallery's own entrance on the side of the building.
Studios
Every tenant at Platform is invited into experimental, democratic processes, where net-based voting systems serve as a practical method for collective decision-making.
Alongside the studios, Platform runs a public gallery with a year-round programme of exhibitions and events — including the peer-selected Curatron shows and the Evening Standard series.
Software
Platform develops software to support and make efficient the artistic communities it serves, in order to aid sustainable growth. Its open-call and peer-voting tools are built in-house and used across partner institutions.

Sister organisation
Aldea, in Bergen, Norway, shares Platform's structure — artist studios and a gallery, with the addition of a public workshop. The two organisations are run from a shared administration across Stockholm and Bergen.
